Veronica Vargas is a holistic esthetician and the founder of Cuidada Skin, where skincare is approached with care, intention, and a whole-person perspective.

After years of struggling with acne and trying countless products and treatments, Veronica experienced firsthand how much more there is to skin health than what we put on our face. Her own journey toward healthier skin—through simplifying her skincare, paying attention to nourishment, lifestyle, stress, and her relationship with herself—sparked her passion for a more holistic approach to esthetics.

Since graduating beauty school in 2013 and entering the beauty industry in 2017, she has had the privilege of caring for clients through personalized facials, facial massage, gua sha, and lymphatic-focused techniques. What keeps her coming back to this work is the connection: watching someone soften, exhale, feel cared for, and leave feeling a little more confident in their skin.

Cuidada Skin is for women, mamas, and teens who want to better understand their skin without the overwhelm of constantly chasing trends or buying more products. Veronica especially loves supporting women and teens of color while welcoming anyone who connects with Cuidada's slower, more intentional approach. Her work is rooted in education, consistency, gentle care, and helping clients create simple skincare rituals that actually fit into real life.

At its heart, Cuidada means cared for, tended to —and that's exactly how Veronica wants you to feel here. Not fixed. Not corrected but cared for.

Why I Chose Botnia Skincare

Botnia Skincare is the line I use for each customized facial. It was created by an esthetician who wanted to care for skin differently—and that philosophy is deeply aligned with Cuidada Skin.

Founded by esthetician and formulator Justine Kahn, Botnia began from a desire to create simple, effective skincare that could be thoughtfully customized to each person's skin. After years in the treatment room, Justine saw firsthand how harsh, overly complicated products could leave skin feeling more irritated rather than supported. Botnia officially launched in 2017 and has grown from a small, hands-on operation into a skincare company with its own lab and microfarm in Sausalito, California.

Botnia makes its skincare in-house in small batches, carefully selecting plant-based ingredients and growing many of its own botanicals. Their approach centers on nourishing and supporting the skin rather than stripping or aggressively treating it. Their professional line is designed to be customized by estheticians, which allows me to thoughtfully tailor your facial and your at-home skincare ritual to what your skin actually needs.

I chose Botnia because it’s woman-owned, and as someone originally from the Bay Area with a deep love for the Northern California coast, I feel a natural connection to its roots. Most of all, it reflects the way I believe skincare should feel: thoughtful, nourishing, personalized, and never overwhelming.
